Getting to Cambridge and getting around

Cambridge is 60 miles north of London.

For people coming by car, the city is just off the M11, junctions 11 and 12.

For those taking the train, there are direct services from both King's Cross and Liverpool Street in London. The last train from Cambridge to London on a Saturday night leaves at 2315 and gets into King's Cross at 0040. However, please double-check nearer the time to ensure this information is still correct.

You can also connect from the East Coast Mainline by changing trains at Peterborough.

The city is half an hour by train from Stansted airport, an hour and a half's drive from London Heathrow airport and an hour and 40 minutes' drive from London Gatwick airport.

If you need to take a taxi while you are in the city, try these firms:

There is also a taxi rank directly opposite the main entrance to Christ's College.

Where to stay

Cambridge is not famed for its excellent hotels. The following hotels, however, are all located close to Christ's College.

Four star

Three star

Bed and breakfasts

If you would like an authentic Cambridge student experience, there is also the option to stay in college rooms: http://www.universityrooms.com/en/city/cambridge/home

Where to eat

All of these restaurants are close to Christ's College and the Cambridge Union Society.

If you are staying overnight, we recommend that you check with your hotel to see if they can offer you a place to park.

There is very limited on-street parking in central Cambridge. However, the following council car parks are within ten minutes' walk of the college:
Unfortunately, parking for guests is not available at Christ's College or the Cambridge Union Society.

Dress code

We suggest gentlemen wear suits and ladies wear smart wedding attire.

Children are very welcome to join for the ceremony and the dancing later in the evening.

Wedding list (updated 15 June)

Please don't feel obliged to buy us a gift -- it will be more than enough simply to have the pleasure of your company on the day.

However, if you would like to, we have set up two gift lists:

You can enter either 'Marsh' or 'Haddon' when asked for a surname. We request no John Lewis vouchers, please.

Alternatively, if you would like to make a donation to help support Abazar Ahmad, we would be most grateful. Two-year-old Aduzar is the only surviving child of a friend and colleague of Kath's who was killed in a Taliban attack in Kabul in March with his wife and two other children. Kath's employer, AFP, has organised a fund to support him:
